Free Online Random Number Generator
Enter your minimum and maximum values, then press Generate Number. The result appears instantly and no sign-up is required.
About this random number generator
The BapTools random number generator creates a random number inside any range you define. It is completely free, needs no account, and produces a result instantly in your browser.
When you need random numbers
- Winner draws: pick a random participant for a contest, event, internal raffle or giveaway.
- Software testing: generate random test data for unit tests, simulations and QA.
- Secret codes: create hard-to-guess number sequences for verification codes.
- Lottery draws: run a lucky-number draw for your team or community.
Real-world examples
Example 1 — draw 3 winners from 120 people
Set Min = 1, Max = 120, then press three times. If you get 47, 12 and 103, those are your winners. Roll again if a number repeats.
Example 2 — pick one of four price tiers
Set Min = 1 and Max = 4 and each press returns a tier. Handy when you would otherwise write Math.floor(Math.random() * 4) + 1 by hand.
Example 3 — Vietnamese-style lucky draw
Set Min = 1, Max = 59 and press seven times for a seven-digit set. This is only for fun; it has nothing to do with real lottery draws.
Example 4 — fake data for testing
Need 50 rows of test data with random IDs between 1000 and 9999? Press repeatedly and record the results, which is far faster than inventing them by hand.
When to use it, and when not to
Worth using
- Picking winners for events, giveaways or who speaks next.
- Generating random data for unit tests, simulations and QA.
- Choosing a random item from a list when you have no real data to go on.
- Producing single-use codes or lottery numbers that need no strong security.
Not worth it
- Passwords, session keys or cryptographic material.
Math.random()is not a secure random source and its output can be predicted. - Contests with real money. Use a dedicated service with public signatures so losers can verify the result too.
- Anything that must be strictly unique. Collisions are possible, so check against what you already have.
- Simulations that need a normal distribution. Uniform integers do not reproduce that.
How to use the random number generator
- Type your lower bound into the Min field.
- Type your upper bound into the Max field.
- Press Generate Number.
- The result shows up immediately.
- Press Copy result to paste the number anywhere else.
Frequently asked questions
Is this random number generator free?
Yes, entirely free and no account is required.
Is the generated number truly random?
The tool uses the JavaScript Math.random() algorithm to produce a pseudo-random number. That is uniform enough for draws, games and everyday testing, but it is not suitable for cryptographic purposes.
How many numbers can I generate at once?
Each press produces one number. Simply press the button again to get another one.
Are there limits on the range?
You can enter any integers you like, as long as Min is smaller than Max.
